Main Speaker: Edwin David

With a career spanning significant roles in both public and private sectors, Edwin David brings over a decade of invaluable experience to the table. Edwin's tenure at the Office of Housing Victoria, managing asset aspects of 70,000 properties, showcases his expertise in program development, major project procurement, and maintenance services. Since 2021, Ed has been actively involved in connecting Developers to Community Housing Providers for the  Victorian Big Housing Build Program. He has been highly successful. He is heavily involved is assembling projects for major Federal Government Programs (Housing Australia Future Fund) and programs in Queensland (Housing Investment Fund and Quickstart).

His tenure as a Member of the Advisory Board and Technical Director for the Property Committee at Common Equity Housing Limited demonstrates his capacity to offer consultancy advice to various governmental levels on property-related matters. Currently, he continues to provide invaluable advice to diverse clients in private, community, and public housing sectors, playing a central role in facilitating developer engagement with Community Housing Organizations across major Australian cities.

Guest Speaker: Gavin Casey

Gavin is a Director at Checkpoint Building Surveyors and heads up the Commercial team within Checkpoint. Gavin’s resume is extensive in regards to exposure to the building regulatory industry as well as fire engineering, energy efficiency, fire brigade consulting and expertise in all forms of construction from industrial, retail shopping centres and high-rise residential and office buildings.

Gavin has been involved in the Building Regulatory industry for approximately 30 years and has a broad range of experience in the application, development and policy formulation of building legislation at a State-wide, National and International level. Gavin has been employed in various capacities in Local Government, private consultancies and the Commonwealth Government (Australian Building Codes Board).
